WooCommerce 10.4 brings Interactivity API Mini Cart, HPOS caching, REST API boost and more
WooCommerce 10.4 is now available, marking the latest update for this free and open-source ecommerce platform built on WordPress. The release introduces a key change with the Interactivity API-powered Mini Cart, which has graduated from experimental status and is now enabled by default in both development and production environments. This adjustment reinforces WooCommerce's adoption of WordPress’s modern frontend architecture and may affect how customers interact with shopping carts across stores.
Beyond frontend changes, the WooCommerce Admin and Analytics REST API namespaces now load only when necessary. This lazy loading approach produces performance gains for all stores by reducing unnecessary backend resource usage. Additionally, the High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) Datastore caching feature is no longer experimental and is available as a standard configuration, helping to streamline order data access.
Alongside these core changes, version 10.4 provides a collection of other enhancements. These include improvements to block functionality, greater accessibility, updates to the API and REST API, a store API rate limiting fix, and updates to the databases. These updates deliver a mix of feature and quality-of-life improvements for store owners and developers.
