Bluesky launches Live Now feature for all users and adds cashtags for stock discussions

Bluesky has expanded access to its Live Now beta feature, making it available to all users. With Live Now, members can display a temporary LIVE badge on their avatar, which signals to others that they are currently streaming on Twitch. When other users click this badge, they are directed straight to the broadcaster's Twitch page. However, Live Now is currently limited to Twitch streaming links during the beta phase. Bluesky indicates support for additional streaming platforms may be added as they continue to refine the feature.

In highlighting this update, Bluesky emphasized their belief that linking out should be straightforward, noting that Live Now serves as an example of this principle. Alongside Live Now, Bluesky has introduced cashtags, a new way for users to discuss publicly traded companies. Similar to hashtags, cashtags require placing a dollar sign before a stock ticker (such as $AAPL for Apple or $NVDA for NVIDIA) to group discussions about specific stocks.

To access both the Live Now and cashtags features, users must update Bluesky to version 1.114 or higher.

I thought that everybody knew that BlueSky is hardcore left. BlueSky is for the left as 4Chan to the right.
