Freestyle is described as 'Software for Non-Photorealistic Line Drawing rendering from 3D scenes. It is designed as a programmable interface to allow maximum control over the style of the final drawing: the user "programs" how the silhouettes and other feature lines from the 3D' and is an app. There are more than 25 alternatives to Freestyle for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Autodesk 3ds Max and Sketchup apps. The best Freestyle alternative is LuxCoreRender, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Freestyle are MoonRay, Adobe Dimension, POV-Ray and V-Ray.

Not ONE of this list is anything like Freestyle. It's part of Blender (now) but it's actually a stand-alone product and can't model or do anything these engines can. This list is the worst I've ever seen here.
