Ideon

Ideon is an open-source, self-hosted alternative to tools like Heptabase and Kosmik, specifically designed for technical projects. It provides an infinite spatial canvas where users can organize information visually rather than in linear documents or folder structures.

Unlike general-purpose whiteboarding tools, Ideon focuses on project context. It allows users to place and connect various data types on the same board, including live GitHub/GitLab repositories, Markdown notes, code snippets, file attachments, and contact cards. The goal is to create a navigable "mental map" of a project that links code, design, and decision-making in one place.
