Set up is 2 minutes, works, no glitch, no problem. Pictures, FREE use, 15000 of them 265 paid!!🤬 Bastards who don't pay!! Everything is open as far as I can see, A TRUE Idie Dev, open person who will open for new owners if he gives up/sick or whatever problem shows up. EVERYTHING is open to go over and it truly WORKS. Try it for free, find out is for YOU, AND PAY, if you use it, $9 a year is to little to look the other way when someone actually WORKS FOR you... This is a TRUE transparency...

It seems to be Saas only and not available for self-hosting.

Misrepresentation in the AlternativeTo.net taxonomy (for the umpteenth entry that I've evaluated today) -- this service is neither FREE nor OPEN SOURCE. This should be classified as FREEMIUM. Also people making new entries need to distinguish between PORTABILITY of your blogged material and OPEN SOURCE where the SOURCE CODE is made available for porting.
That out of the way, the author credits Herman's Bear Blog service for inspiring him to create and offer the Mataroa Blog. There are 3 tiers with the free tier offering minimal functionality, and the top paid tier offering bells and whistles.
However, the entire platform prides itself for remaining free of the bloat afflicting the popular blogging platforms -- a claim which it holds up to.
If you like minimalism, then this is recommended for you.

This is a TRUE transparency project, everything is open to YOU to see. I have never ever seen anyone do this. To call this "SaaS" and NOT "Free" too is actually WRONG. 15 000 can prove that. They use, and never pay...
