It was originally written because there were no exisiting solutions for split tracking with a delayed start available on *nix platforms' and is an app in the gaming software category. There are four alternatives to Urn for Windows, Linux, Web-based and Mac. The best Urn alternative is LiveSplit, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Urn are LibreSplit, Mist Timer and Splitter (MacOS).
