It's online, so it needs no download. There is a downloadable client, however. Much more options in turrets and hulls, but they're not exactly realistic. If you're looking for an alternative that is based on real life events, this isn't the best option around. If you're looking for a fun alternative without needed downloads and such, then this is the best option I've ever seen.
