After Netflix, Disney has announced price increase for Disney+, Hulu and ESPN and plans to crackdown on password sharing

Disney has announced plans to increase the price of its ad-free Disney+ and Hulu streaming services. The new rates will take effect starting October 12, with both services seeing a $3.00 per month increase.

The ad-free Disney+ tier will now be priced at $13.99 per month, while the ad-free Hulu plan will cost $17.99 per month. However, the Disney+ plan with ads will remain at its current price of $7.99 per month.

In addition, Disney has also announced a price hike for the individual ESPN+ subscription. The monthly cost will rise from $10 to $11, and the annual subscription will increase to $110.

Disney+ also intends to crack down on password sharing in the future. This move follows the similar action taken by Netflix in April 2023, which resulted in an increase in sign-ups and revenue growth for the streaming giant.
