Simply the best and most secure. No need to trust a second party for binary code
The latest software sources are patched to work for many different architectures and system configurations. When there is a broken update, it can be reported to the maintainers at Gentoo's bugtracker before upstream fixes the bug.
I can tailor my system to my needs, USE flags allow me to opt-in or out of certain application features, Portage itself is also a great package manager, and it's easy to make your own custom repository.
Gentoo is good with updates!

I can tune it deeper and make it elegant, fast. Usually after installing Xubuntu I removed games, office, Pidgin, etc, but Gentoo is bare bones with good package management and community. Like you can compile JS library and get only what you want - with Gentoo you compile all your software (it easy and compiles automatically on install).
