Does not "run directly in web browsers", it runs directly in specific web browsers, Chromium based ones. This should be made clear on the page
It runs in web browsers that are compatible with modern, up to date web standards.
Unfortunately, as it states in the popup, Firefox currently lacks the web standards that is required for this to work. Not developer's fault that Mozilla didn't do their job well enough, and not the developer's fault that there are just 2 browser engines (Chromium & Firefox, and maybe WebKit but that's mostly used only on Apple).
I don't even like Chrome; I'm a Firefox user & hate Chromium dominance, and it pains me that the reality is that Firefox is lacking in web standards compatibility, specifically ones that allows web apps like this one to be powerful just like a desktop app. The day Mozilla ups their game & do their job properly will be the day Pikimov works in Firefox.
One of developer's Tweet: "I see multiple comments about the lack of Firefox support. Firefox is my daily browser and I wish I could get Pikimov to work with it, but it's currently not possible. Some advanced features I use are only available on Chrome/Edge for now. I hope this will change in future."
FAQ section: "Why no Firefox support Firefox is my daily web browser. As a web developer, I always make sure my work is compatible with all major browsers. But you can guess a web based video editor is a complex task to achieve, and Pikimov uses several key features that only exist in Chrome, Edge, and Opera, and maybe, maybe, Brave. That's why Pikimov cannot currently work on Firefox (as of today: v141), there's nothing I can do to fix this, it is just not possible YET.
Note: There is no Safari support due to similar obstacles."
The developer also addressed this in many, many other Tweets, if you're willing to look at.
