It works for the most part and does everything it advertised to an extent. Downside is I can't get it to stop crashing after 4 or 5 transactions.

Not so much because GnuCash is particularly good, but because nothing else is particularly better. GnuCash will get the job done, works very well, and is easy to jump into once you know a few basics.

It's awesome for anyone who needs more functionality than Mint can provide, specifically the ability to have an account that is not linked to a bank. It's great to have the equivalent of Quicken in the cloud, so it's immediately available on all devices.

The automatic syncing is more convenient than Quicken, where for a number of institutions I have to log in, then download transactions. In addition, I found out first-hand that CountAbout has good customer service. I bank with a small credit union, and the staff went to extra effort to make sure I could get connected.

I just wanted a "check register". This is much simpler than the full bookkeeping of GnuCash.

Moneydance does everything I ever used Quicken for, and it costs less. It was fairly easy to convert my 25 years of Quicken data to Moneydance. Plus, Moneydance doesn't pester you with upgrade reminders.

To center your money control over the budget is the differential. However, YNAB is way too expensive.

It is stable, constantly updated, one of the oldest softwares and it has even better reporting than Quicken. We have been using over a year now without any issues.

KMyMoney does a lot, but it also needs to grow a lot to become more complete personal finance software, overall, it's pretty good, especially if you only have 2 bank accounts and don't want to automatically download transactions from your bank's website.
