Good application for home accounting. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to understand for those who do not know accounting. Judging by the absence of a mobile application in Google Play and F-Droid, he can be considered deceased. The PC app, on the other hand, is quite lively and is updated frequently.
There is no longer any support for Android and Linux I also tried to compile the Linux version myself without success, they give instructions to compile on mac and say they are the same for Linux, but they do not work Best alternative? It seems to be HomeBank !
This isn't true. There are native packages for all major LTS distributions and there is Flatpak for every other. https://flathub.org/apps/org.moneymanagerex.MMEX

when i try this mobile app, i'm very love this app. althought this app very slow i think.
but when i need to open in my desktop, the file data can't be open.
and now, i have uninstall it. and moving to GNU cash and money manager.
Relatively easy to use, cross-platform, open-source.
I sync in the background with Syncthing between devices.
Can directly import bank data from CSV. Tracking of crypto, stocks and assets is possible. Future and regular expenses and income can be tracked.
Room for improvement lies with stability and translation, so far no data loss, so all is good.
I like money manger
Only have a build for one Linux distribution and it's the most unused one.
It was a beautiful cross-platform software but after removing the Android support and drastically worsening the Linux one I'm switching to HomeBank
I just spent 1h to add my accounts and import the history... and lost all my work.
First, the import manager is not intuitive, for example importing is by default done to the first account in alphabetical order and not to the account from which the importing was selected (and it's only possible to copy one transaction at a time from one account to another). Also, when importing transactions with empty fields (for example payee) the software fills-in one of previously used payees (by random?).
Second and most importantly, there is no 'Save' button for the database so I chose 'Save As' to overwrite the existing database file. At this point the program showed a windows saying something like "cannot write to the same file" and reverted back to the previous version of the database. And so I lost all my input....!
So to sum it up it' great to have a free software, but this one is definitely as unpolished as a mine field. I will try to find something without hidden traps.
