Microsoft Store is getting a designed new library, improved search and update transparency

Microsoft has announced a significant update for the Microsoft Store on Windows 11, now accessible to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels. The new version, 22407.XXXX.X, introduces several user-requested features and improvements, focusing on the library, search functionality, and update transparency.

A key enhancement is a redesigned library experience where owned apps and games are no longer hidden by default, a search box for quicker access, and a filter to show only installed applications. Additionally, a new "Updates & download" page has been introduced, separate from the Library section, offering a detailed overview of current downloads and pending updates along with easy access to release notes. This long-requested feature will depend on developers providing relevant changelogs.

The update also includes an experimental section for game developers to promote limited-time in-app events, allowing Windows Insiders to try out new gaming features. Microsoft plans a gradual rollout to gather feedback before wider distribution.
