What is Windows 11?
Windows 11 is the latest major release of Microsoft's Windows operating system. It succeeded Windows 10, and is available for free for any Windows 10 devices that meet the new Windows 11 system requirements.
Windows 11 features major changes to the Windows shell influenced by the canceled Windows 10X, including a redesigned Start menu, the replacement of its "live tiles" with a separate "Widgets" panel on the taskbar, the ability to create tiled sets of windows that can be minimized and restored from the taskbar as a group, and new gaming technologies inherited from Xbox Series X and Series S such as Auto HDR and DirectStorage on compatible hardware.
Internet Explorer has been replaced by the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge as the default web browser, like its predecessor, Windows 10, and Microsoft Teams is integrated into the Windows shell.
Citing security considerations, the system requirements for Windows 11 were increased over Windows 10; Microsoft only officially supports the operating system on devices using an eighth-generation Intel Core CPU or newer (with some minor exceptions), a second-generation AMD Ryzen CPU or newer, or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 ARM system-on-chip or newer, with UEFI and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 supported and enabled.

Requires TPM 2.0. A lot of older machines won't be supported.
That can be circumnavigated. But honestly with the bloating on Win11 any older machine will just die simply by running out of RAM.

I respect Windows ability to just make each subsequent version worse. Win XP was slick and efficient for its days. Then we had 7, which is also solid, but the telemetrics stuff started getting out of control. Then 10 came. Bloating in general, not just telemetrics got out of control. Now Win 11 merrily eats up 6GB of RAM idling. Since it is proprietary I have no idea what is under the hood. The processes are also helpfully named 'Windows Host Agent' etc. Microsoft has the best engineers out there. They must have decided between themselves the goal for Win11 is for it to be as bloated as possible so they can generate tons of ad and data sale revenue, and force average users off hardware with reasonable specs to buy new fancy laptops. Solid business strategy I have to say. The strategy just unfortunately involves making Win11 as terrible as possible.
