Adblock Plus does a better job educating the user (website) and creating lists. But I find AdBlock's interface more convenient to use (lists are still compatible). I salute the effort to let "acceptable ads" through to let small developers live off it.
I no longer support adblocker plus. I dont know if its just me but i was listening to music on soundcloud and then i got an ad, i checked everything to fix it, but no luck, i didn't see no ad count they blocked either, last time in total since 2 months ago is 17K blocked ads.
If im the only one then eh, i tried, if im not, let me know, liking it will help. Thanks
Adblock I think should be mandatory when using Chrom
Not perfect by any means and ads still slip here and there on YT, but still I would recommend it if constant ads get on your nerves. Ain't nobody got time for that.
I mentioned in my previous post that Adblock for Chrome can block most Youtube video ads (though not in Youtube videos embedded on third-party sites). Unfortunately, this functionality does not extend to videos from websites that aren't Youtube. Adblock Plus for Firefox is still king when it comes to blocking video ads in general. If you're watching a video on (for example) Engadget, Adblock Plus on Firefox will block both the ads that play before the main video itself, and the small banner ads that pop up within the main video while it's playing. Neat.
Not that I'm endorsing Adblock Plus. In fact, the Chrome version of Adblock Plus has the same flaws with video-blocking as its similarly-named competitor, Adblock for Chrome. In this regard, neither of these two major Chrome adblockers do as good of a job as their Firefox counterpart. For now, no matter which adblocker you're using on Google Chrome, you're still going to have to watch video ads. Dang it. :P
Oh yeah, and Adblock for Chrome isn't too great at blocking Youtube video ads, either. I'm talking about the ads that pop up inside videos, not the banner ads throughout the website. Though Adblock will block ads in videos on the actual Youtube website, it doesn't block video ads in embedded Youtube videos, on third-party sites. It's not a major flaw, but in my opinion, in-video ads are one of the most annoying types (right after popups, interstitials, and banner ads with sound).
Adblock is now defunct. A good alternative is Adblock Plus (ABP). Or, if you want more customization, uBlock Origin for chrome is also a good alternative.
Adblock for Chrome doesn't block ads as well as Adblock Plus for Firefox. Interstitial ads (ads that just randomly pop up and dominate the entire web page until you press the continue button) are not blocked most of the time, and sometimes you can still see ads for a brief moment before they're hidden. But Adblock for Chrome is getting better, and its current blocking ability is acceptable.
