Legendary photo app. Still a bit hellish to learn for a novice but what a massive number of amazing features. After all these years, its still getting better an better thanks to Adobe's team making constant updates.
Overpriced and totally not worth it if you're just starting out as a photography student. There are cheaper alternatives available.
While Illustrator is my go-to for vector logos, I rely heavily on Photoshop for creating realistic mockups and UI visualizations for my clients' pitch decks. A staple in my design stack.
Isnt open source + paid + doesnt work on Linux
I like this app, I use it since 2015
PS is an absolute monopoly. But its competitors keep making, frankly, stupid development mistakes. Or they're super unorganized. There's always something really boneheaded in hindsight that holds the competition back. That's why PS is still the king. Adobe can manage their software development well enough to produce a tool that actually works.
I deeply wish I had another option. But I'm not going to jump through hoops or play bug report tag on random bug trackers when I have work to do and deadlines to meet. If you're a PS competitor reading this, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!
Paid + Not open-source
