What is Archivarix?

Archivarix is an online downloader that uses the Wayback Machine to recreate websites. It downloads and processes the content on its server, eliminating user intervention. After processing, a zip archive of the entire website is given to the user.

The rebuilt website is easy to navigate, with text-based files like HTML, CSS, and JS stored separately for easy searching and replacing. The service restores internal links using mod_rewrite in .htaccess, resulting in a functional website without 404 pages, broken images, external links, and non-working scripts. Broken files are replaced with editable dummy files, and external scripts, banners, and counters are removed.

Archivarix optimizes the restored content by following Google Developers' recommendations, compressing image files, deleting EXIF data from images, and removing comments from HTML. It also optimizes CSS and JS to improve the website's functionality.
