What is ArchiveHive?

ArchiveHive preserves a drive before you retire a computer or sort inherited files. It copies every readable sector into an archive you can check and repair: Zstandard image chunks, SHA-256 checksums, PAR2 recovery data, a TOML manifest, and a plain-text recovery guide with the format specifications, so the image can be reconstructed without ArchiveHive. Unreadable regions are recorded rather than hidden.

After the capture, ArchiveHive checks every copy you have added, repairs damaged chunks from another copy or the recovery data when enough good data survives, searches file names across indexed archives, and can run scheduled checks. Archives can be mounted read-only or extracted to a standard .img file.

Checking, repairing, opening, extracting and searching archives are free. A licence is needed to create new archives: one payment covers every 1.x release, with no account or subscription and a thirty-day refund. It is an archival imaging tool, not a data recovery service; a drive that is already failing belongs with a recovery lab.
