What is BlindLock?

Steganographic Password Vault

A stolen password file is an attractive target. BlindLock makes password management fundamentally different.

Your encrypted credentials are hidden invisibly inside a PNG file and additionally bound to your computer's security chip – TPM 2.0 on Windows/Linux or Secure Enclave on macOS.

An attacker needs three things at the same time:

  1. The PNG file
  2. Your password
  3. The exact computer with the matching security chip on which the BlindLock file was created

If even one of these factors is missing, the vault cannot be opened.

And that's exactly why BlindLock is not designed for virtual machines: a VM cannot provide the same hardware-bound trust basis as your physical computer.

Losing that computer is not losing your data: a backup file plus your twelve recovery words brings everything back on a new machine, and nothing else does.

Security begins where software alone is no longer enough.
