What is Borderfall?

Borderfall is a turn-based strategy game where you conquer territory across nine eras, from ancient legions to a galactic frontier. It runs in any modern browser. This means no download, no install, no app store.

The core loop is the one Risk players already know: reinforce your territories, attack across a border and settle it with dice, then fortify before you pass the turn. Region bonuses reward consolidation, and every front you open is a front someone can counterattack.

Where it differs is that a single game doesn't stay in one period. As play advances your civilization climbs through the eras - ancient kingdoms through the modern day and on into the Space Ages - and the rules of war change with it: new units, technologies, naval and eventually orbital theaters. Optional economy and tech-tree layers add depth without altering the core rules, and can be switched off.

Play solo against AI from Easy to Expert, invite friends to a private lobby, or get matched with strangers. Games can range from 2 to 8 players. Games run in real time or as asynchronous turns over hours and days, so a match with friends in other timezones doesn't need everyone online at once. A typical solo game is about 10–15 minutes; the Daily Challenge is shorter.

Guest play starts immediately with no sign-up. An account is free and saves progress, rank and rewards across devices.

It's a browser game, not a client — there's no Steam release and no native desktop app.
