CamDial

CamDial is a menu bar app that controls USB webcams on the Mac. Exposure, white balance, focus and zoom are set on the camera itself over USB, in real units: kelvins and fractions of a second, not percentages.

The problem it was built for: most webcams go back to factory auto every time the Mac sleeps, the cable moves or a hub switches. Save your look as a preset once and CamDial puts it back when the camera reconnects. You get a quiet notification with an undo.

Because the settings live on the camera, there is no virtual camera to select and no video pipeline eating the CPU. Whatever opens the camera next gets the picture you set: Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, OBS, QuickTime, FaceTime. You can adjust the picture in the middle of a call and watch it change.

It works with any standard UVC camera: Logitech C920, C922 and Brio, Elgato Facecam, Razer Kiyo, Anker, NexiGo and the no-name camera in your drawer. CamDial shows only the controls your camera really supports, so there are no dead gray sliders. No driver, no kernel extension, no restart.

Apple's built-in FaceTime camera and the Studio Display camera do not expose hardware controls to any app, so they are not supported. Better to know that before you download.
