ChaiBuilder

ChaiBuilder is a self-hosted, low-code visual website builder that runs inside a Next.js application alongside Payload CMS. Rather than hosting sites on a vendor platform, ChaiBuilder is deployed to the user's own infrastructure and stores all content in the user's own Postgres or SQLite database.

Pages are assembled visually from blocks, and developers can register their own React components as blocks, so the builder can be extended in code rather than replaced when a project outgrows it. A theme system defines reusable design tokens built on Tailwind, letting developers set the design system while non-technical editors work inside it.

The project has an open-source core with a commercially licensed set of additional features covering roles and permissions, revision history and multi-tenancy. All paid plans include the complete feature set; plans differ only in the number of production domains and whether the builder carries ChaiBuilder or white-label branding.

Common uses include agencies producing client sites under their own brand, development teams adding visual editing to an existing Next.js codebase, and organisations running multi-tenant white-label deployments.
