It just works with minimal complications and none of the annoying limitations found in every other media server/client I tried.
I was a PLEX user, but found a happy place with Channels! I do all my TV through the Apple TV and was running in to constant issues with PLEX. I searched for alternatives and tried several, but once I found Channels I was done looking. I have run into exactly zero issues. Everything just works! And they are constantly adding new features that I love! If you are experiencing issues with other live tv /DVR options or looking for to start... give Channels a try... You won't be disappointed you did! Oh and the community is great too. They help you learn all there is and give you updates for new features and answer questions.

Channels DVR is my primary way of watching and recording TV. I receive my local channels from an antenna connected to a HDHomerun tuner and I use my TV Provider (YouTube TV) to watch cable channels as well. Because Channels DVR can record shows, both local and cable shows are recorded in one place.
The best part is it automatically removes the commercials when I watch a show. Because TV commercials are so out of control (1 1/2 hour movie can easily run 3 hours with all of the commercials) I get my time back using Channels DVR. It's truly awesome.
While the software is amazing (and works like magic) the developers of the software make it all possible. They are active in the forums and are very responsive to feedback. They are committed to their Product and clearly love what they do. That's a big part of why this software is so great.
I've replaced my Tivo (does not work with YouTube TV), Emby and Tablo with Channels DVR. It's the perfect match for me.
