Prologue Chess

Prologue teaches you chess openings by making you play them, not watch them.

Each opening is learned in three passes with fading guidance. First guided: the starting square lights up and an arrow shows the move, so you can't go wrong. Then with a hint only if you get stuck. Then entirely from memory. When you finish the third pass, you know the line by heart and it comes back to you mid-game.

Every move comes with its reason — "1.e4: you take the center and open lines for the bishop and queen" — so when your opponent leaves theory, you still know what to do instead of panicking.
