What is CinemaCC?

The film plays on the big screen. The subtitles are on your phone, in the language you read.

CinemaCC turns your iPhone into a private subtitle companion for films on a cinema screen, TV, computer, or projector. Find or import one or two tracks, prepare the languages you want, then tap Enter theater.

YOUR SUBTITLES, YOUR LANGUAGES

  • Find one or two matching subtitle tracks through TMDB and OpenSubtitles, or use one or two SRT files you already have
  • Import SRT or ZIP files from Files, a secure link, or another app, then assign each track’s role and language.
  • If a selected language has no matching subtitle, ask CinemaCC to notify you when one becomes available.
  • Library keeps prepared films and their subtitle packages ready to use again.
  • If no matching subtitle track is available, preview a source and optionally purchase one AI translation. Each purchase or credit covers one translation; completed results can be reused.

HOW IT WORKS

  • The player opens paused. Tap Play at the film’s first frame, then follow the subtitles in sync.
  • Landscape uses the full height for subtitles. Browse lines, use Jump here, and move the floating timing controls without covering the cue actions.
  • On supported phones, Find My Place uses the microphone and on-device speech recognition to match a few seconds of dialogue and recover your position.
  • On supported phones, Spoken Subtitles can read the current subtitle line through connected private headphones.

Every film. Your language.

  • A near-black display and brightness controls are designed to keep glow and distraction low.
  • Screen stays awake for the whole film
  • Prepared screenings remain available offline; online search and AI translation require an internet connection.
  • Supports common SRT text encodings from different sources.

iPhone and Apple Watch

  • Keep recent prepared screenings on Apple Watch for offline bilingual playback, line browsing, and playback controls.

Siri and Shortcuts — iOS 18+

  • CinemaCC actions can find movie subtitles, open a movie, search for the current movie, or show prepared films.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

  • No CinemaCC account, ads, or advertising tracking; an OpenSubtitles account is optional and used only for provider downloads
  • Your CinemaCC Library is stored locally. Find My Place microphone audio is processed on-device and not uploaded.

Whether it is a film that never got subtitles in your language, fast dialogue in your second language, or a movie night with someone who reads a different language than you — CinemaCC keeps you in the story.
