What is CitationEasy?

CitationEasy is a free citation generator for students, researchers, and writers. Paste a URL, DOI, ISBN, PMID, arXiv ID, or BibTeX and it produces a formatted reference and in-text citation in more than 10,000 Citation Style Language styles — APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago, Harvard, Vancouver, IEEE, and AMA among them, plus thousands of individual journal house styles.

Bibliographies are stored in your browser rather than on a server, so there is no account to create. You can organise multiple bibliography projects, annotate entries, reformat an entire bibliography into a different style, and export to Word, BibTeX, RIS, and CSL-JSON.

The site also publishes step-by-step citation guides, printable cheat sheets, a style comparison tool, and a free public API. The full catalogue of citation styles is available as an open dataset under CC BY-SA 3.0.
