A full-strength dev tool to build Kotlin or Java apps on a phone that has everything you'd expect from an IDE, including a real debugger, Git support, plugins to add new features, etc.

Review from a new or low-activity account — shown here, but not counted in the app rating.

What is Code on the Go?

Building an Android app generally requires a laptop or a desktop computer, reliable broadband, and a steady power source. Unfortunately, depending on where you live, one or more of those requirements may be unavailable or too expensive.

Code on the Go (CoGo™) is different. It is an integrated development environment (IDE) that runs entirely on an Android phone, including legacy 32-bit devices. You don't need a workstation, a USB cable, or a constant internet connection, because the tools to build the apps you need are already in the palm of your hand.

This is not a simplified code editor or a remote desktop client connecting to a server somewhere else. CoGo is a full Android development environment empowering builders everywhere to write, build, debug, and share Android apps, without needing any other device.

Features include:

  • On-device Java debugger: No ADB, cables, or emulators
  • Sketch to UI™: Convert pictures of hand-drawn sketches to Android XML layout code
  • Extensive plugin ecosystem: Expand CoGo's capabilities with features you need without wasting space on features you don't
  • Mobile Git support: A Git UI designed for touch that simplifies version control and project management on small screens with soft keyboards
