I tested the Pro version and honestly, everything worked great.Encryption, file transfers and the link extension all worked well. The transfer speed was actually pretty impressive.

How does CortexDrop handle large files with IPFS? Does the upload take longer compared to something like WeTransfer?

Files are stored on IPFS nodes in multiple regions, so on download you connect to the closest one — that's what keeps it fast, even for large files. Decentralized and content-addressed, not tied to a single server.
Interesting project. How does the encryption work with IPFS? Can the files be accessed by anyone who has the CID?
Files are encrypted client-side in your browser before upload, so they're never stored in plaintext on IPFS.
