Was a laudable endeavor
Very unstable. I spent more time fixing it than chatting.
Cryptocat-service is not stable. atm this ist the 4th in 6 months, that cryptocat ist offline. I dont support this software and uninstall it.
This page links to https://crypto.cat/ that is new version of cryptocat. 8bit pixel icon was a browser version of cryptocat.
New cryptocat is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux. (Build on Electron app) There is no available cryptocat for Online, Browser addons anymore. (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari)
Can anyone confirm if using Cyptocat on a Windows system could lead to losing one's private keys to Microsoft (and therefore, the NSA)?
Same thing for the Chrome browser: could Google (and therefore, the NSA) get a hold of your Cryptocat private keys if you are using Cryptocat as a Chrome extension?
