I've been using D-Fend Reloaded for years now as my game launcher. It is by far the best DOSBox front-end I've found and it's configurable as a front-end for all other systems, emulated or not. Everything goes into D-Fend Reloaded: DOS games, Windows, Steam, SCUMMVM, NES, Genesis, TurboGrafx, Atari, TRS-80, Magnavox, MESS, MAME, browser games, etc. It pulls information from Mobygames (and other sources now) and populates preview/screenshot folders and other miscellaneous data fields like publisher and release date. Then you can sort everything by genre, or emulation type, or mark favorites, search titles, and filter by other pieces of data if you've pulled them from Mobygames. Each game profile also comes with a spot to store your manuals, walkthroughs, and other documents. Setting up extra program files (i.e. cheats and map editors) for a game is also provided. This is a really feature-rich launcher and I'd be lost without it.

What is D-Fend Reloaded?

D-Fend Reloaded is a graphical environment for DOSBox icon DOSBox . DOSBox emulates a complete computer including the DOS commandline and allows to run nearly all old DOS based games on modern hardware with any of the newer Windows versions.

With DOSBox there is no need to worry about memory managers or free conventional RAM, but the setup of DOSBox is still a bit complicated. The configuration of DOSBox via textbased setup files might be difficult for beginners. D-Fend Reloaded may help and create these files for you. Additionally the D-Fend Reloaded installation package contains DOSBox (including all lanuage files currently available), so there is only one installation to be run and no need to link D-Fend Reloaded with DOSBox manually.
