dcmage is a local-first medical imaging workbench combining DICOM tag editing, HIPAA de-identification, and volumetric visualization for neuroimaging and technical research.

Key capabilities for neuroimaging:

• 3D DICOM to NIfTI-1 (.nii.gz) export with RAS physical space mapping (qform/sform) for FSL, SPM, and AFNI. • 3D MPR (axial, sagittal, coronal), slab projections (MIP/MinIP), and ray-cast 3D volume rendering. • Automated CT/MRI head defacing: slice-aware face/ear redaction boxes to prevent 3D facial reconstruction. • PS3.15 & HIPAA Safe Harbor de-identification: deterministic SHA-256 UID remapping, vendor private tag scrubbing, and burned-in pixel redaction. • Strict virtualized tag tree & SR editor with PS3.6 dictionary tooltips and VR validation. • 100% on-device processing (macOS, web, Docker) ensuring zero PHI cloud transmission.
