I'd been looking for this solution for a few years now: I need to batch scan a bucket of SSDs that I can archive, but search –Offline–whenever I need to. But I have additional requirements: No ads, pay once –no subscriptions, it must be searchable, offline searchable, it must support batch scanning media of all types, I need tag support and the ability to add notes later without rescanning, I need to export a .csv of the archive. Being able to control the level of detail in the catalog is also really great.
I’ve used Disk Catalog Maker for years and it’s been rock solid. It scans drives in seconds and lets me search dozens of SSDs without plugging them in. Simple, fast, and very reliable.

A great way to keep track of files. OSX/MacOS file search has been broken (slow) since 10.6 introduced Spotlight. Diskcatalog maker creates a catalog of disks, CD's, Blu-Rays' whatever you throw at it. Finding a file takes seconds. Perfect for online, and offline storage ( "What was on that external HD?" ). Works if the drives are connected or sitting off in a box, or a network share. We've used it for years and it's proven itself quick and stable.
