What is Faneo? Faneo is a webcomics portal in Spanish: a free and democratic social network to publish and read webcomics for free. Faneo is developed by OpenShine and is actively supported by the community that supports it, through various participatory channels, where new features, standards, etc. are proposed, discussed, and approved.

Where do we come from? Faneo was born from the gap left by the disappeared subcultura.es, leaving the spanish-speaking webcomic community orphaned of a meeting point where to upload, read, comment on and share comics. Some members of that community joined forces to create Faneo. Later OpenShine showed its interest in the project and sponsored the project by assuming the development and maintenance of the website.

Where we go? Faneo not only comes from the past, he also looks to the future. Do you like comics? Faneo is your Community. Whether you are an author or a reader, here is your site. The Faneo Community is an inclusive and accessible community that allows free entry. The main objective of the creators of Faneo and its community is to create a portal that eliminates entry barriers, where creating a webcomic is much easier than in a general blog, an English-speaking blog or an intolerant community.
