I like FieldRunners a lot better than RoboDefense for a number of small reasons that I won't go into here (hey, small things count). However, my main problem with FieldRunners is that it has no backgrounding capabilities whatsoever, or at least for the Android version. When you leave the app with the home button, you have to reload your save when you reopen the app. You even have to reload your save when you lock and then unlock your phone.
