Comments and Reviews
It's very convenient to download files through FileCentipede as the extension works like a charm. It's the best IDM alternative to have for linux and best thing is, it's open source.
This is actually closed source, you can't build it on your own.
After a long journey of looking for the best IDM alternative and trying dozens of programs, I settled here with FileCentipede. It's the closest thing to IDM You can get. Excellent Software. The only issue is that it fails to download YouTube videos. use JDownloader or yt-dlp for YouTube videos and FileCentipede for the rest of the downloads.
Very good file downloader. pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Here's why it isn't a 5 Star:
once these things are fixed I'll give it a 5 star
While FC is a good open source software, it limits the newest version as "premium software."
You can always get the activation code for free, but it will expired in days after activation.
Yeah, came here to comment the same. It's annoying that the "activation code" window pops up every few minutes even if file centipede is minimized, disrupting whatever you're doing.
In terms of convenience and features it's very close to IDM, very good.
