    For what you get, MS-Access is cheaper than Filemaker by far on a cost per user basis. Usually you get the rest of the Microsoft suite with Access. The only thing Filemaker has over Access is being able to run of a MAC natively. For the everyday user, Access gives you more bang for buck if you are a windows user.

    Far more complicated than Filemaker Pro. I've been using Filemaker since 1987, every once and a while I will try my hand at Access, and leave it frustrated. FM is intuitive, Access is not.

    Libre Office is far more complicated than Filemaker to use; much more like Access. At present, in our universe, Filemaker corners the market as the only highly-powerful-yet-easy-to-use database. Provue's Panorama is the only other contender in the Filemaker Pro arena.
