What is Filewright?

Filewright renames files by reading them rather than pattern matching on the old name. It opens documents and reads them, looks at photographs, reads music tags, and writes a name a person would have chosen: scan0001.pdf becomes the actual title of the letter.

The model runs on your own PC, so your files are never uploaded and there is no account. Every new name is shown beside the old one before anything is written, and every run can be undone, including folders it created.

Every ordinary renaming tool is free and unlimited: find and replace, case, numbering, templates, live preview. The AI names three files per folder on the free version. Pro is a one-time $29.99.
