Potential to be the Best

This has quickly become my favorite fishing game. Had I found it sooner I definitely wouldn't have put as much time into others. I love the 3D graphics & the more realistic fishing mechanics. This gives the game a SLIGHTLY more simulation feel as opposed to slot machine-like. If the idea of a fishing simiulator is unappealing, don't let the label fool you, this is far from a full-fledged simulator. Catching a fish requires a tad more work. But don't pass it up on that alone. It gives the game a more interactive feel & is not so difficult to cause frustration or boredom. Rewards come quickly & often. Being that the game is still in beta it is lacking in some features, but there are more to come. Currently groups/clubs/clans/teams are not supported but will be in the future. So more player interaction, if desired, will be possible.

The user interface is clean & snazzy. Visually, it is stunning as you get a rotatable 3D view of interactions with the fish under water before hooking onto your line. The 3d models are nice & well resemble each real fish's unique appearance. In comparison to similar games, fish behavior is more dynamic & affected by the type of lure & how you use it. There don't appear to be as many available fish species, between 10-16 for the first three areas. But perhaps there are plans to add more in the future. Lures resemble their real-life counterparts & are not specific to a single fish. There is a fee to duel other players, which is realistic but I haven't decided yet whether I like it or not as a feature. Fortunately the reward for winning is double that of the fee. Music comes into play when appropriate & is fit for a fishing ambiance. It also maintains RPG-like features found in other games, such as leveling rods & collecting lures. The game's device orientation is in landscape, so you will get a wide view of each fishing area. If you prefer portrait, it unfortunately is not supported. I would suggest the developers add an option allow play in portrait for those players that may be more inclined to try it were that feature available. I have yet to come across a fishing game that supports both.

Connecting to my Google account was no problem. I've had issues with other games not syncing correctly the first try & didn't know it until after I had made in-game purchases. Graphics quality is set to "High" & I am unable to change it in settings. I'm sure this is only a factor due to the beta status of the game & will be fixed in a future release.

In the limited amount of time that I have played so far, there don't appear to be as many available events as some other games (perhaps this may change as I progress). But that actually might be considered a positive for some that would be overwhelmed by too much coming at them at once. I have read reviews for other games where players complained that they progressed too fast & felt pressured to make in-app purchases to maintain the status quo with other players.

The only reasons I don't give it 5 stars is because is doesn't yet support clubs.
