So close to being exactly what I need. Unfortunately, the back-end runs on Google Firebase. For me, the whole point of using Mastodon - and to a lesser degree Bluesky/AtProto - is to move away from U.S. Big Tech platforms and toward protocols.

Tlaster

What you mean by "the back-end runs on Google Firebase"? Flare is just a client and doesn't even have a server.

Can't reply to Tlaster directly, so I'll answer the question here: Flare's iOS app connects to Google Firebase on startup, which means it has integrated Firebase SDK into the app. It could have opted for better alternatives like Supabase icon Supabase or PocketBase icon PocketBase

Tlaster

To be clear, the Firebase here is just collecting crash report for me to make Flare more stable (Yes I'm the only dev of Flare), I don't think SupaBase or PocketBase does this. Flare is fully FOSS, if you have any question, you can always browse the source code, or asking AI, or even build Flare yourself.
