Comments and Reviews
As Donald Trump has turned the US into a fascist dystopia (I can barely believe the terrifying depths his administration has sunk to), I am trying to avoid US-based companies as much as possible. I don't know why this company is listed here as being UK-based ‒ is it really? When I look up Fortect on WhoIs, it only lists GoDaddy and DomainsByProxy under contact details.
Wikipedia has this to say: "Subscribers list Domains by Proxy as their administrative and technical contacts in the Internet's WHOIS database, thereby delegating responsibility for managing unsolicited contacts from third parties and keeping the domains owners' personal information secret."
Also: "Controversially, Domains By Proxy is also used by a number of organizations that target vulnerable individuals by sending threatening psychic letters, and fake drug companies. It is also used by fake anti-spyware and anti-malware sites to hide their real ownership of the software that they promote. [...] Reportedly, Domains By Proxy provides services to various scammers around the world."
I can't trust any company using DBP as a cover. Can you?
