Basically, Gab is Mastodon/Bluesky but without leftists. But that isn't really important to me.
The site has a pretty bad UI, without any kind of contrast. It's all the same colour, posts have little spacing, lines are so thin they're almost invisible. To be fair, this is also a problem on Twitter and Bluesky.

I see a lot of straight up lies in these reviews. Gab can be as friendly place as any other and in fact far more open than others. The only difference is they do not censor speech. If you are afraid of "words" hurting your feelings, then this may not be the place for you. On the other hand if you are looking for open discussion on almost any topic then I do highly recommend it.
This is simply a lie.
Deleting hatred and violence is not censoring free speech.
I am all for alternatives to the big social networks but Gab is purely about right wing 'Merican politics and nothing else. As a photographer I cannot use the platform to promote my work at all. They make a big fuss about being about free speech but when everyone on your platform is harping on about the same thing does free speech really come into it? Do left wing 'Mericans use the site and would they be able to speak freely? Doubtful. Want an alternative to the big platforms with a non political agenda then use Mastodon.
Mastodon is a blue hair, furry, transsexual freak show, what are you on about? That's like saying "X is an echo chamber because of all the Free Speech and open marketplace of ideas, if u want somewhere to go where u know where everyone "stands", is censored to hell, etc., go to Bluesky" . . .

I like what GAB use to be, just like Torba himself, now after selling out to the Peter Thiel network (small hat network of CIA & Mossad operatives and Billionaire donors of the same kosher cloth; lookup Palantir) he equally f'd his only great success, GAB.
I don't like any of it, but in this particular case, the website Gab. But obviously not for the same reason dirtbag, genocidal, anti-White, Anti-Christian racists don't like it.

On October 27, 2018, a man named Robert Bowers entered the Tree of Life*Or L'Simcha synagogue, which it shared with Dor Hadash and New Light. At the end of that day, eleven Jews lay dead, including a doctor who rushed to help, two disabled brothers, and so many others. A Holocaust survivor was a few minutes late and so was spared. It was the deadliest antisemitic attack on American soil. Ever.
And the shooter posted on Gab.
And the shooter was radicalized by Gab.
Nor was this an outlier. Gab users posted polls following it. Highlights: in one poll, 35 percent of Gabbers supported freaking genocide against Jews; twenty-five percent supported Mr. Bowers, the murderer; and other disturbing statistics.

No bro, being in favor of free speech doesn't mean you hate Jews.
And the fact that a crazy dude used the site doesn't mean it radicalized him. You would think maybe a guy in his 20s could be radicalized from a website, but a 50-year-old dude? Stop fear mongering.
This is why free speech can't entirely be "free" anyway, it always has limitations and should, too. See the 1st amendment, limits such as obscenity, fraud and imminent lawless actions, for example, just to name a few.
Gab is dying now due to the wonderful idea of charging people to post memes. Traffic is down by about 70%, engagement has always been low. While you may have to worry about running afoul of T&C on other social media, at least they are free.
