I use the Glearix music player with the MOTU M2 and would classify it as a true audiophile player: light, clean, “bit-perfect,” and—it seems to me—capable of delivering highly nuanced sound reproduction even without any additional adjustments, which is important for all such detailed audio playback. I use it for classical music, from pianissimo to fortissimo. The player delivers an absolutely stable sound image at any volume setting.
An app with so much to commend it and yet it's not quite up to the mark. On the plus side it is very lightweight, and it looks good with its simple and uncluttered UI.
However, my experience was a bit underwhelming. I could find no way to order/group my albums other than the seemingly random way they were presented. An app with so much to commend it and yet it's not quite up to the mark. On the plus side it is very lightweight, and it looks good with its simple and uncluttered UI.
However, my experience was a bit underwhelming. I could find no way to order/group my albums other than the seemingly random way they were presented. That's quite a big deal if you have 6.5k albums (75.5k tracks) as it's difficult to find stuff without trawling through great swathes of it to find the album/track you want. The search function works well enough as it presents you with all the tracks by that particular artist but then you have to start scrolling though the results to find the specific track. It's all a bit tedious.
Add to that the endless "not responding" messages and it refusing to open. I got to the stage where I gave up, which is a shame because it is so very nearly brilliant.
