Global Pet Sitter is a worldwide house and pet sitting exchange built on barter rather than payment. Sitters care for pets in the owner's own home and receive free accommodation in return, no money changes hands between members, and there are no booking fees or commissions, only a yearly subscription which allows you to do unlimited exchanges.

Owners post a sit with dates and pet details; sitters browse opportunities on a map and message directly to arrange the stay. Profiles are verified, and members build a reputation through reviews from the people they've sat or hosted for. Sitters coming from other platforms can carry their existing reputation across rather than starting from zero.

The platform is member-governed: the community votes on which features get built next, and pricing is published openly with no hidden charges. The first 3,000 members receive a free year of membership.

Available worldwide on the web, with an iOS app; the android app is still in development.

Global Pet Sitter is an alternative to TrustedHousesitters, HouseCarers, MindMyHouse and Nomador, aimed at travellers, expats and digital nomads who want long-stay accommodation without a membership fee, and at pet owners who prefer in-home care to boarding.
