Iconify was mainly created as a substratum theme to change the system icons of any aosp rom. After some time, I converted it to use as magisk module with Terminal GUI integration. But then I got bored of using substratum and terminal gui.

Android used to use XML for its UI, but starting with Android 15, Google began transitioning to Jetpack Compose. By Android 16 (QPR builds), the UI is fully built with Compose. Unlike XML, Jetpack Compose is much harder to modify or hook into because the code is inlined and heavily optimized during build time, making it difficult to trace or change. Also, since Compose constantly redraws the UI (recomposes), hooking into it reliably is challenging. Because of this, we’re archiving this project indefinitely until a better solution is found. What is Iconify Android?

Iconify was mainly created as a substratum theme to change the system icons of any aosp rom. After some time, I converted it to use as magisk module with Terminal GUI integration. But then I got bored of using substratum and terminal gui. Applying overlays without any previews made me frustrated. So I decided to make it easier for me by creating an application where I can see the previews and change anything I want. This was totally for my personal use but as people showed interest, I decided to release it in public.
