ImmortalWrt is my favorite firmware for routers and other types of network devices. ImmortalWrt is a fork of OpenWrt. Since 2022, ImmortalWrt is actually a drop-in replacement for OpenWrt. In comparison with OpenWrt, ImmortalWrt is supported by a majority of COURAGEOUS and TOLERANT admins and moderators. ImmortalWrt includes additional packages, expanded device support, optimized default profiles, and works for any country. Also, ImmortalWrt community is decentralized and worldwide.

The challenge with OpenWrt is that since 2022, many admins and moderators at the OpenWrt forum and wiki are increasingly FEARFUL and INTOLERANT. I do not know why. My theory is that both the OpenWrt forum and wiki were infiltrated by AI (Bots). Which feeds them false and misleading information? Bots proxy controlled by people with Evil behaviors? In my personal experience, if you have feelings or thoughts they disagree with, they will decline my invitations to a friendly debate. Then, either censor or block your account. Based on misleading or false information they were feed by Bots? Again, this is just a theory. Many OpenWrt users experienced either the same or similar challenges.
Another important legal distinction between both is that, as of August 2026, ImmortalWrt has MORE upgrade servers. Which are DECENTRALIZED in VARIOUS COUNTRIES and laws to choose from. Source at https://downloads.immortalwrt.org/acknowledgements.html or at https://archive.ph/tHder
In comparison, OpenWrt has LESS upgrade servers. And they are mostly located within EUROPE's laws. Which seems to increasingly be going toward a dystopian future? I recall that George Orwell's 1984 movie and novel warned us about that. Time will tell. Source at https://github.com/openwrt/asu#active-servers or https://archive.ph/PnGdH#selection-3477.0-3587.45
