2D Barcodes (QR Code, Datamatrix) can hold several types of information: an URL, respectively a mobile sites address a SMS message a phone number any kind of text an email address

The URL is certainly the most interesting type of information which can be encoded. After scanning the 2D Barcode, you get a connection to the mobile site.
