Launchbox is centered around retrogaming and easy emulators setup, Playnite does not any of that, it's all manual, why bother if you have to do all the setup outside of the app? completely useless at retro gaming

Launchbox is mostly about setting up emulators for retrogaming, can do game launching yes. Playnite is not an alternative to launchbox since playnite is ONLY a game launcher.

Launchbox is primarily designed for importing libraries of retro game roms and then setting up as a frontend to launch external emulators.

Lutris is primarily a community driven frontend for managing wine and proton emulation configs for modern windows games.
