What is Lens K8S IDE?

Lens is the most powerful Kubernetes IDE on the market. It is a standalone application, and it is available on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Some of the benefits of using Lens include:

  • Confidence that your clusters are properly setup and configured.
  • Increased visibility, real time statistics, log streams, and hands-on troubleshooting capabilities.
  • The ability to work with your clusters quickly and easily, radically improving productivity and the speed of business.

Note

If you are updating to a major version, such as Lens 5.0, any existing user data (your clusters, workspaces, preferences, etc.) will be migrated to new data structures. If for some reason you may want to restore a previous version of Lens it is recommended that you back up your user data before updating. The user data is typically stored in the following places:

  • MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Lens/
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Lens\
  • Linux: ~/.config/Lens/ or $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/Lens
