What is Locksy?

Locksy is an app that starts a countdown as soon as a message is sent, regardless of whether it's opened. Both the sender and receiver are subject to this countdown. The recipient can receive a photo, video clip, voice note, or text message without needing the app. The message disappears once opened.

The app operates on a no-replay, no-second-chance principle. Users create a message, lock it, set a timer for its disappearance, and send it.

Locksy features Secret Drops with live dual countdown timers, transient stories, group drops, and private chatrooms. Users can send messages to friends, regardless of whether they have the app. The "Backroom" feature allows users to create a private space with friends, which can be set to disappear after a certain period or kept indefinitely.

Locksy is designed for fleeting moments, with messages disappearing after a short period rather than being stored indefinitely. This adds a sense of urgency to communication, as recipients have only one chance to open a message before it disappears.
