I have absolutely loved Monosnap for almost a decade but I'm a windows user and over the past few years the RAM usage crashes got worse and worse but I didn't want to switch to a new system like Loom as I don't need all kinds of advanced features and bloat, I just want the same lightning fast screenshot annotator I'm used to but without needing to worry about freezing/crashes as I regularly have 10 - 20 screenshot annotation windows open at a time. Finding this program was a godsend as it's everything I loved about monosnap but it never freezes up even when I have 20-30 windows open. I'm on the free version and there's nothing I need more than this for my workflow.

What is Maxisnap?

Maxisnap is a screenshot and screen-recording app for 64-bit Windows 10 (1903+) and Windows 11. Capture a region, window, full screen, or scrolling pane; annotate with 12 tools including arrows, text, numbered steps and Blur; extract text with Windows OCR; or pin a screenshot to the desktop. Record a region or the full screen with microphone and system audio, trim the result, and export MP4, GIF or WebM. AI Mode provides smaller image and video exports for use with coding assistants.

Local capture, annotation and recording are free without an account. A free Maxisnap Cloud account includes up to 50 active captures and 500 MB of storage, including up to 100 MB of video, with 30-day retention. Free Cloud sharing includes advertising.

Pro costs $18 per year for 10 GB of Cloud storage; Pro Plus costs $59 per year for 50 GB. Both are billed annually. The monthly equivalents shown in this listing are approximately $1.50 and $4.92.

Studio is a separate $29 one-time add-on for uploads to your own SFTP, FTP, S3-compatible or HTTP destination, together with the self-hosted Studio dashboard. Studio is independent of the Cloud subscription tiers.
